Ingredients

- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
- ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional for heat)
- 2 Tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the avocados. Cut each avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash. Using a fork (or potato masher), mash the avocado to your desired texture—smooth or slightly chunky.
- Combine. Stir in tomato, onion, jalapeño and cilantro until evenly distributed.
- Season. Pour the lime juice over the mixture, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Rest & serve. Let sit 5 minutes for flavors to meld (optional), then transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy immediately.
Notes
To slow browning, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the guacamole’s surface before covering. For extra zing, stir in a pinch of ground cumin or smoked paprika.
